Hi cheryl, are you still alive? How is the painting going for the Grammar. I have finally finished all of mine so it is on too the next one. haven't been doing to much exciting except art and doing some renovations in Natasha's room. Amazing what I can do when I buy myself an electric drill. Have fun......Sandy

Hi Cheryl, thanks for your kind comments about my recent blog article on the Wildlife Festival. I really feel for you about Steve asking you to do the illustrations only to be pipped at the post by another artist - very gut wrenching for one's career and self esteem. It is soooo tough out there for artists as you already know! Now, as far as going to O'Reillys, that will be fun but a real shame about the damaged camera. At least you will be able to recharge your artistic batteries with the gorgeous nature surroundings. Enjoy, and yes, we want to see your photos and share in your artistic escape. Lesley

Oh btw, you're paintings are gorgeous....a very talented lady...and I see you have Tony O'Connor music here...one of my fave Aussie musicians...I have several of his CD's, I also love Ken Davis CD's, and Ian Cameron Smith.....all Aussies who write incredible music.

Hi Cheryl, thanks so much for stopping by and leaving some great feedback for me.......just can't get enough of any type of macro......gosh photography is so addictive I haven't picked up a paintbrush in quite a while LOL! I intend to...it's just...no time I suppose....hopefully over the next 12 months I get myself into gear lol! best wishes Kathie

Hi Cheryl.... The digital stuff does take a little time to get used to but it's worth it. The whale is an acrylic painting. I do like to use traditional media when can, but as an illustrator, I have to do what i do for speed etc. Take care, Aaron.

Thanks Cheryl - I take heaps of photos as resources etc and every now & then you get a good one.
I'm just looking at your little painting of my favourite Kingfisher: The Little Kingfisher! I've only seen it twice, both times on Daintree River bird trips...Your painting of him is gorgeous!
love
Lise

Hi Cheryl, Great to 'meet' you! Thanks for your lovely comments. Your work is amazing - such clear bright colours and detail. My first impression is that your work would also suit illustration purposes. Have you ever tried that avenue?

I'm just keen to get out and see as many beautiful places as I can!!! I was up in Cape York when I was about 22..so it was about 22 years ago, about 1986. I was living in Atherton 5 years ago, but had to return to my home town of Orange - needed a strong support network at the time. I have such an overwhelming need to "go bush", its a place where I feel so much better. I love the sounds, the smells and the sights of nature...makes me feel peaceful and "at one" with myself, a calming influence. I am saving to go to Katherine and get as far as I can, with absorbing what makes me feel good! I never expected to be excited about going on a cruise..its never been something that appealed to me...but thats was in the past. I now look at the best way for me to go! I would really love to drive there, but cannot drive a car anymore...so am kind of on the look out for someone who would make a good companion for such a trip!
