Thankyou Lesley!!! Maybe now I shall have a chance :)
Julie, I have had my work on RedBubble for a couple of years now and I think that they are the best. I agree with you that the quality of the printing is excellent and the cards are amazing. I love the fact that they have offices in America and Au...

Help me with my new Project if you can!

I have been thinking about doing something like this for a long time and realise that the job is bigger than just little old me! I live in Queensland for instance and am not exposed to the wildlife in other Australian States. I have created a gorgeous free site using the Wetpaint Community platform and anyone can join who would like to contribute in creating a wealth of educational resources about Australian Wildlife and Wild Plants.

My aim is to provide an educational site for artists, writers, researchers, nature lovers, school children, students etc to be able to find information, resources and help in identifying all of our beloved Australian critters. I have so many photographs just waiting to be added and I hope that you do too and that you would be willing to share them with the world! Even if you can't identify what they are but they are good quality, members would love you to share them and we can help you identify the species. This is very much a community site where everyone has the power to create, tweak, modify, correct, add to, help, discuss and so on. It will, however, be moderated just to keeps things 'fair'.

Why would you do this ?

because you:

* are passionate about Australian native wildlife and you want to learn more about all of the flora and fauna around you

* you have knowledge in this area which you would like to share

* want to meet like-minded people who share the same love of nature as yourself

* are a wildlife artist/photographer/writer/illustrator who would like to showcase your work and gain more exposure (you can link back to your website)

* you have the opportunity to sell your photographs to publishers, artists looking for resource photos etc

* want to help raise awareness of Australian animal rights and welfare

* have good photographs of Australian flora and fauna which you would like to showcase, share and educate others about

* you are a wildlife carer

* are a writer or author looking for information and images on Australian wildlife

* have or belong to a wildlife organisation which you would like to promote

Pop over to Australian Wildlife Educational Site now and explore. Please support my vision by becoming a member for free and contributing in whatever way you can, no matter how small and there will never be any pressure on you from anyone to contribute and no nagging e-mails. After all, this site is about a greater cause than our own egos but rather a like-minded group of people who are passionate about their love for Australian nature. Having said that though, you get your own page as well where you may choose to promote yourself and your work. What have you got to lose?

Moving up a step!

Hello everyone!
I have been as busy as a blow fly in a jam tin (again!!) with setting up a new site where I can sell my photos and photos of my art as greeting cards, prints and calenders. Its very exciting and the quality of the products is excellent! I am still waiting to hear more news regarding the wall murals I have my sights set on (sigh!), so...to keep myself busy and perhaps get some further recognition..I took this path http://gardenjools.redbubble.com . Please let me know what you thin… Continue

Public Murals

Hi everyone!
I have such exciting news. I have been asked to paint a mural on the main wall of the toilet block at the Beach Reserve here in Woolgoolga!!! I have some ideas for such a large piece (it would have to be at least 15m!), but am wanting to involve some art students and other local kids to help me. So...once I get the "official nod"...I'll round up the budding young artists and throw some ideas around. There is also talk of me commanding a much larger project in Woolgoolga...more on th… Continue

My meeting with a Tawny Frogmouth

Like owls Tawny Frogmouths are nocturnal and it was after returning from an evening walk on a spring night that this wise bird caught my eye.

The evening was warm, still and silent and although he sat motionless perched high on a telegraph wire, it was his yellow eyes, as bright as the stars surrounding him that caught my attention. I gazed into his eyes for what seemed like a couple of minutes yet it is was as though time stood still. I too felt like I was motionless and blending into the stil… Continue

Goodbye my little buddy!

Our cat "Domino" who has been with us for 15 years has been very sick these past few days and after a second blood test this morning she has been diagnosed with having an incurable cancer so we made the heart wrenching decision of putting her "to sleep" and I am an emotional wreck at the moment. Domino was a beautiful cat who enjoyed a wonderfully happy life and I know it was the right decision but it's still very, very hard and I miss her so much.

North Coast alert

Am sitting here watching and listening to the cyclonic conditions of outside!!! This is unbelievable. It is like a cyclone that has lasted for 48 hrs and does not look like letting up just yet. There is massive power shortages, destruction to homes, businesses and vehicles. Roads are getting washed away as well as shorelines and river banks. Schools have been shut and residents have been advised to stay indoors and off the roads. Grafton is in serious trouble with the banks of the river predicte… Continue

The Kimberley is in danger!

The Government (in its great wisdom!) is, as I speak arranging to build a gas pipeline through The Kimberley region In Western Australia. Why they think this a much better idea than using the infrastructure already set up in the Pilbara is totally a mystery to me and the rest of our country! Our Federal Environment Minister - Mr Peter Garrett is promising to stall this project, but needs our help by nominating The Kimberley for World Heritage status (I always thought it had it!!!). Once the nomi… Continue

The Voyage

It’s been quite a while since I last updated properly, due to a couple of reasons. Uni assignments and exams are building, and sadly I’ve had not much time to create many artworks of late. Secondly, what time I have had has been spent completing the illustrations for ‘The Voyage‘ - the debut poetry chapbook, by Brisbane poet Zenobia Frost - which has been a delightfully imaginative project.

This has been my first, published illustration project, and I am grateful I was granted full creative fre… Continue
